Frequently, we receive a Profile that has a job title that differs to some degree from any listed in the database under the particular client’s account number. The candidate has written in “Account Executive,” but in the database for that client we have “Sales,” “Account Manager,” and “Customer Service.” All titles are similar, but none are exactly the same as what was requested, which can result in unnecessary delays getting your Profile processed and back in your hands.
In the computer industry it's well known that the result obtained is only as valid and accurate as the accuracy of the data input for the particular project. This applies to profile analysis, as well. In the above example, if we guess you want the candidate profiled for “Sales,” but you are actually considering him for “Customer Service,” we’ve produced a profile that won’t give you the information you need.
If you are in doubt as to what titles we have for you in the current database, simply contact your Omnia Client Service Manager and ask for a list of your job titles to be sent to you. Or simply review your job titles on our online system at Omniagroup.com. Review that list and make any title changes you might wish to make and deactivate any positions you no longer want us to use in profile analysis for you. Fax back the resulting list and keep a copy for your records, making sure all employees that administer and fax in profiles have access to the information. Then, when a candidate is given a profile, have the job title already written on that profile in the appropriate space—that way the candidate won’t write in a wrong title.
Omnia's website will soon feature a list of job titles you can choose from -- look for this list this summer.
Happy profiling!
